Big congratulations to Luna, Camster, Isatis and Fix oder Nix for the outstanding victory in Summer Blues.
A masterly performance. The rest of us outclassed, almost humiliated. No whining, no fuss, just sailed the sh-t out of the rest of the fleet.
The fight for 2nd place was a lot tougher. AYC/BSC and BluesTeam finished on the same points, where AYC/BSC took 2nd and Blues Team 3rd place based on lowest best-score. Good sailing both teams!
We feel that this concept was generally well received and we will now start planning for a future if the interest shown so far will remain. As always you learn along the way. For instance, the number of teams was too big. We look forward to your views and ideas on how to make this event better.
Blue Sweden / Goffe
for VSR (VSK Sweden Race)
The main purpose with this event is to enjoy a friendly regatta together with skilled and fair sailors and kill off some boring summer days. Winning is of course the goal, but not by all means. Pen hunting, port barging, dirty sailing or general bad behaviour will not be accepted.
The concept is a bit different: It will be an event where several teams will compete against each other at the same time. The mode will be set to Fleet Race. There will be a total of six races, (two days with three races each), with one discard. (Details further down).
RULES

Race Mode: Fleet Race
Rules: Complete (Auto). All NPC exc. 17.1
Comments: There will be NO Protest Committee. Accept the Nadeo umpire as it is, with its limitations and faults. No whining or complaining out on the course. Again: Note that this is NOT a Team Race Mode event.
Team Formation: 3 or 4 team members can be nominated, but only 3 boats can participate in each race. This means that one boat can be changed from one race to another. The composition of the team is free. There are no restrictions regarding mix of nationalities, club membership or affiliation etc.
Format: 6 races, 1 team discard, i.e. the highest score a team will get in any of the six races will be deducted from the total, thus forming the final net score.
Points: Low point system for each boat; 1st=1p, 2nd=2p, 3rd=3p etc. DNF,DNS, DNC=No. teams x 3 registered for the regatta. The sum of the points for all three team boats in a race will be registered as the team point for each race.
General:
- No late arrivals.
- No General Recall due to many false starts. (Nadeo umpire sees all boats).
- Disconnect before 1 min to start may cause a restart.
REGISTRATION
Register by sending an e-mail to admin@swedenrace.se
The registration should include;
- “Summer Blues”
- The team name.
- The names of all boats/skippers
- A nominated team captain, who will also act as contact person for the team. Please add e-mail address.
- Option: Skin/avatar provided by VSR. Yes/No. (See below).
There will be a maximum of 7 teams participating in the regatta. So, register in time to make sure your team will get a place in this prestigious event. Teams and skippers will be presented regularly a.s.a.p. after registration
Registration closes 1 day before first start. Sharp!
SKINS/AVATARS
Everyone is free to use their own skin/avatar as long as it is fairly easy to identify which team the boat belongs to. Using your own specific team skins/avatars would be great.
Otherwise VSR will supply team skins/avatars for those who so wishes. The skins will be quite simple with single-coloured hulls using the web colours: white, red,fuchsia, lime, yellow, blue and aqua. If you want a VSR ready-made skin/avatar please make a note in the registration and rank the colours preferred.
MAPS
The maps used for this event will be presented at least two days ahead of the start of the first race.
WINNER
The team with the lowest total net score after six races is the winner. By winning this great event, the skippers will receive worldwide respect and admiration forever, wherever they go and whenever they turn up..
